Field_Mapping Labview Program

I finish testing for Lakeshore 450 Gaussmeter and ZETA6104 Stepper Motor. Basically, I fully understand how to make these two device I/O working.
Today I continue on writing the last part of Field_Mapping Labview code based on Stepper Motor Test program. I think it will work very well as far as USBTOCOM converter arrives. But of course, it may have few bugs in my program, I will fix them once after I get chance to test it after setting up USBTOCOM card.

However i'm just worried if this method can be approved by JP or not since some parts of stepper motor is made of magnetic materials, such as Fe. It may work if I cover it by a frame which can block magnetic field around motor. I don't know yet , but i will tell my friend to try.

Summary of 4/17-4/22

Understanding the CAMAC and its associated stuff.
Finish writing labview code for ZETA6104 Stepper Motor and LakeShore 450 Gaussmeter. Next step is to combine these two to map the fringe field of Bigbite at the target position automatically. If using old procedure, it may cost one day to finish, right now I guess it only takes 2 hours.

I also update all the manuals for these devices, PID tuning procedure, and RS232 Connection Figure, please check my webpage e-file tab.

Learning C++

Not much to say. These days I am concerntrating on learning C++. The purpose is to support all software parts in our experiment since all codes have been transferred to C++.

New tests for 4 detectors

I piled up 4 detectors like a crossroad, then restart the CODA to try to get high resolution result after I changed the geometry.

For target lab, the RS485 converter is coming according to the email which Sale Rep sent to me. I hope it will arrive on next Tuesday so I can start designing circuit in target lab.

Webpage and Technote Updated

I've updated my webpage, including uploading all my files and changing the interface a little bit.

And I also update my spin-reversal technote, check here.

To do list for next 4 days

Since we will have collabration meeting next monday and tuesday, I will mainly concentrate on preparing ppt for next 2 days. There will have no news for next 4 days.

Summary of 4/6~4/7

4/6
Still work with Brad on DAQ system. But we got strange pedestal histogram, thought it's from enviorment noise. Try to find the source.
4/7
Work on DAQ by own hand. Reconnect all the devices to practise and truly understand what's going on here. Still have some questions need to be answer. I will ask Brad and read book to finish this work as soon as possible.
I heard some problem of target from my friend. However, I'm afraid I can't help him until DAQ is done. I'll try my best.

Summary of 4/5

10:00am~5:00pm
Work with Brad about DAQ. Simple one, only test cosmic ray which trigs 4 detectors coincidently.
Use one ADC and TDC to get data. CODA for reading data from these two devices. Analyzer and Root for analysing data.
Circuit Flow:

Summary of 4/4

Whole day
Working on Target.
First drive to hampton to buy a hydraulic hose which one end is swivle, one is thread from hampton rubber company.
Install the stainless-steel tube in the system. And add heat protector on it.
Turn on heater 2. Found 1 shortcut in circuit. Use heat shrink to fix it.
6:00pm
Start running airflow temp test.
7:00pm
Go home for dinner. xfzhu monitor all three indicator.
8:00pm
Back to lab. Fix indicator setting problem.
10:00pm
xfzhu back home for dinner. I'm still here for monitoring.
10:45pm
All test finished. See the details.
Then turn off heater and airflow.

Summary of 4/3

10:00am
Transversity on-site meeting. Here is the minute.

10:30am
Work with xfzhu in target lab.
Order RS232 to RS485 converter.
One input tube needs to be replaced.
Cell and tube are moved away for us to reinstall new stainless tube.

4:00pm
Trying to install wireless network on my laptop. Failed. Need to call CC.
